Marine Engineering Specialist

This position covers below roles:
  • Responsible for vetting process for vessel operations in CPGL operational area as per ConocoPhillips Marine Vetting Standard.
  • Responsible for ensuring CPGL Marine Operations is in compliance with ConocoPhillips Marine Risk Management System (MRMS).
  • As subject matter expert for Marine Engineering providing engineering support for CPGL Marine Operations.
With above scope, this position requires close coordination mainly with CST Superintendent, Barging Supervisor, Grissik & Gelam Operations Supervisors, Marine Operations Specialist, vessel operators and Global Marine Assurance.

Key Duties and Responsibilities 

1. Vetting Process (40%):
  • Owner of vetting process in CPGL including planning, review and hold the approval authority for vetting process of all vessels operating in CPGL operational area as per ConocoPhillips Marine Vetting Standard.
  • Track action item in the vetting system to ensure closure of all findings.
  • Liaison with Global Marine Assurance to resolve vetting issues.

2. MRMS Compliance Assurance (40%):
  • Develop and implement assurance process for all vessels operating in CPGL operational area.
  • Provide regular report to reflect compliance status.
  • Demonstrate leadership, including identify improvement opportunity to ensure compliance to MRMS.

3. Marine Engineering (20%):
  • Provide marine engineering support for Operations and liaise with Global Marine Assurance as required for any engineering issues.
  • Pro-Actively looking for new updates in the marine engineering industry and share to internal organization.

HSE Responsibilities

It is expected this role to:

  • Demonstrate COPI Core SPIRIT Values and foster environment where the other team members identify, communicate, and address unsafe act, condition, and event. 
  • Participates in company HSE Programs


Requirements:

  • Minimum University Degree 
  • Working Experience: Minimum 2 years working experience in marine engineering function, minimum 5 years working experience in oil and gas or similar company
  • Professional leadership, problem-solving, and time-management abilities
  • Proficient in verbal and written English
  • Good understanding of ConocoPhillips Marine Risk Management System
  • Good understanding of International Marine Engineering Code & Standards
  • Strong communication with internal Operation and other function to support day to day activity
  • Quick response and adaptable to dynamic situations
  • Computer literate i.e. MS Office & SAP enterprise.
